What is the relation of PNAC to the 9/11 attacks?

The Project for the New American Century (PNAC) was a neoconservative think tank based in Washington [1][2], D.C., that was founded in 1997 and disbanded in 2006. In the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks, PNAC proposed a policy of aggressive military intervention in the Middle East, arguing that the US had to take a strong stance against terrorism and that only a robust military presence in the region would be effective.
